Event Details

The Girls At Home: Parlor Harmonies of the Civil War Era, featuring the singing group Lafferty Pike of South Charleston, Ohio.

During the mid-1800s, American music was most often homemade. Composers catered to amateur musiicians, providing a wealth of songs that typified the sentimental romanticism and humor of the era. In the spirit of these “parlor concerts,” join us as the Arendt sisters of the group Lafferty Pike present a program of popular songs from the Civil War era, accompanying themselves with harp, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and fiddle.
